Please advise applicants for Salt Lake City resettlement: multiple contacts with Thompson's Greater Waste Rat have occurred in increasingly lower altitudes over the past three months. Settlers should be made aware, though Lesser Waste Rats are generally considered a nuisance pest, the greater variety will attack children and smaller adults. Fully grown bucks can reach 115lbs, and will be quite aggressive.

Greater Waste Rats have a somewhat heightened tolerance to radiation, and actively hunt in metropolitan ruins. They are adept at opening simple latches and have occasionally learned to open doors according to eyewitness reports. We cannot stress enough that contact with these animals should be avoided, and any carcasses should not be handled. They are suspected in an outbreak of hemorrhagic fever in the San Diego outlaying areas.
